Our three funding rounds per year support a broad range of arts, community and social welfare projects in Wales, with a particular interest in supporting rural communities and environmental sustainability. Building on the legacy left by Bernard and Laura Ashley and the global business they developed, the Ashley Family Foundation invests in projects that will boost community and support the creative arts, particularly in rural areas.
Pathways to Farming is working to increase the number of horticultural food producers in North Powys, helping to develop new markets for local produce.
The Ashley Family Foundation funds an annual scholarship for a Design and Performance student at the college, as well as granting funding towards three public productions and the graduating students’ exhibition, Balance.
This inspiring annual project supports young people from Merthyr Tydfil College to complete a placement on the Audio Visual Team at the Green Man Festival, where students are mentored by top industry professionals.
